Maria Torres, 49, of Elgin died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital. Born in Uriangato, Mexico on May 9, 1958, she was the daughter of Alfredo and Carmen (Martinez) Camarena.

She owned and operated the Special Cut Hair Salon in Elgin for 4 years. Maria was a loving mother and wife and will be missed by both family and friends.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo and Carmen Camarena.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Mario Torres; 1 son, Jorge Alberto Torres; and 1 daughter, Rocio “Rosie” Torres; and many sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elgin, Fr. John Earl, presiding. Burial will be private. O’Connor – Leetz Funeral Home, Elgin in charge of arrangements. For more information or to leave a condolence please call (847) 741-1400.
