Lula Mae Taylor, 74, of Elgin died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Sherman Hospital. Born in Sallis, Mississippi on October 8, 1933, she was the daughter of Jordan and Patsy (Boatman) Malone.

Lula is preceded in death by her parents, Jordan and Patsy Malone; husband, Arlanders Taylor; son, James Evans; 2 brothers, Willie B. Malone and Effie Malone; and 3 sisters Mary Williams, Mazell Malone and Lavell Gilliam.

She is survived by her 4 children, Willie Evans, Arlanders Taylor, Jr., Arlesa Taylor, and Rodney Taylor; 7 grandchildren, Akil Taylor, James Evans, Joseph Evans, Willie Evans, Jr., William Taylor, Justin Taylor, and Corinne McCurdy; and many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 9:00 A.M. until time of funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at O’Connor – Leetz Funeral Home, Elgin The Rev.
