Default Todd William Moss

Todd William Moss of Rockford, IL, went to be with our Lord and Savior Saturday, January 3, 2009. He was born in Elgin on November 14, 1973 and is the son of Marleen and Terry Moss.

Todd was diagnosed with brain cancer at 4 years old. He attended Hiawatha Grade School in Kirkland, IL, Clinton Rosette Middle School in DeKalb, IL, and DeKalb High School. He was also enrolled in the 18 to 21 program. Todd graduated in 1991.

He learned many job skills and his favorite job was at Brown’s Supermarket in Genoa, IL. During this time he formed a long lasting bond with his aid and best friend, Diane Shields.

Todd had 8 major surgeries to remove cancer and 3 terminal diagnoses. Every time Todd bounced back with more love for life. He touched everyone he came in contact with and never complained or felt sorry for himself. He loved life and everyone he knew.

Todd loved to play his video games, swim, bowl, horseback ride, and just about anything else he could think of doing, and he did it all with passion.

Todd’s parents and family would like to thank everyone from Visiting Nurses and Hospice for their dedication to serving and for their wonderful selfless care. Also, every doctor, nurse and technician who ever took care of Todd. There are too many to name.

Todd is survived by his parents, Marleen and Terry Moss; sister, Trisha Zinkel; and brother-in-law, Ray Zinkel, all of Rockford, IL; and many loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 12:30 PM at the O’Connor – Leetz Funeral Home, Elgin, The Rev. Bryan Garfield of Church on the Rock, Huntley, officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
